Healthy Banana Bread

  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1/2 cup applesauce
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 3/4 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 3 medium bananas, mashed
  • 2 tbsp honey
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 cups whole wheat flour

  1. Preheat oven to 350° F
  2. Whisk together butter, applesauce and sugar in a large bowl until smooth.
  3. Add in mashed bananas, vanilla, baking soda and salt, beating until well combined. Lastly, beat in the honey and eggs.
  4. Add flour and stir until smooth, be careful not to over mix.
  5. Pour batter into greased loaf pan and smoothen the batter on top. Bake at 350 degrees F for 50 minutes to 1 hour.
  6. Lay piece of aluminum foil over loaf pan for the last 10 minutes, to prevent over-browning. Check doneness of bread by sticking toothpick or knife and ensuring it comes out clean.
  7. Remove from pan and let cool on a rack, slice, and enjoy!
