- Preheat grill to medium (300°F to 350°F). For the sauce, in a small saucepan melt butter over medium heat. Add onion and garlic; cook and stir until tender. Stir in tomato sauce, chili sauce, brown sugar, Worcestershire, chili powder, and salt and pepper to taste; bring to boiling. Reduce heat; simmer, uncovered, 5 minutes. Spoon half the sauce into a small bowl. Cover remaining sauce; set aside.
- Season chicken with salt and pepper to taste. Place skin side down on grill. Grill, uncovered, 15 minutes, turning once. Brush chicken with reserved sauce in bowl. Grill 10 to 15 minutes more or until chicken is no longer pink (165°F), turning frequently and brushing with sauce.
- Transfer chicken to a serving platter. Top with reserved sauce, and serve.
